Step 1
Take long string from holder kit, fold it in half then push it through the hold in the holder as shown in the illustration.
Step 2
Place string around your neck like a necklace. Insert your catheter valve in the holder as shown in the illustration.
Step 3
Now adjust catheter valve holder by sliding the holder up or down the string. Then hold the button in on the cord lock, slide it up to the holder to hold it in place. Release button on cord-lock catheter hose should hang approximately 3 inches lower than the exit bite as shown in the illustration.
Step 4
You should be able to stretch your arms all the way up and not pull on the exit site. The hose should never pull on the exit site. If this happens, re-adjust the holder by pushing in the button on cord-lock and slide holder up or down to re-adjust. Once adjusted, cut excess string off, as shown in illustration.
Step 5
Another way to use this holder is to hook it to a snap clip than attach it to your shirt, bra, or undergarment. Make sure your catheter hose hangs approximately 3 inches lower than your exit site. You can adjust holder the same way as shown on step 3.
Step 6
If you like to use the Snap Clip option, slide out the long string on holder. Take string off Snap Clip then put Snap Clip string through hold in holder. Then put Snap Clip back on the string on holder as shown in the illustration. Then clip it to shirt, bra, or undergarment.
Step 7
(Only Night/Exchange Peritoneal Dialysis Catheter Holder) When you hook up to your peritoneal dialysis solution and valve on catheter is in open position, clip catheter valve in holder, then clip holder on pajamas or undergarment as shown in illustration.
